Penobscot County Unorganized Territories

Local Liquor Option


Notice is hereby given that the Penobscot County Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021, 9:00 AM, at 97 Hammond St, Bangor, Maine for purpose of receiving public comments on the consideration of authorizing liquor sales in the following Unorganized Territories: Argyle Twp, Cedar Lake Twp (T3 R9 NWP), Dolby Twp (TA R7 WELS), Grand Falls Twp, Greenfield Twp, Grindstone Twp (T1 R7 WELS), Herseytown Twp, Hopkins Academy Grant Twp, Indian Purchase T3, Indian Purchase T4, Kingman Twp, Long A Twp, Mattamiscontis Twp, Prentiss Twp (T7 R3 NBPP), Pukakon Twp (T5 R1 NBPP), Soldiertown Twp (T2 R7 WELS), Summit Twp, T1 R6 WELS, T1 R8 WELS, T2 R8 NWP, T2 R8 WELS, T2 R9 NWP, T3 R7 WELS, T3 R8 WELS, T4 R7 WELS, T4 R8 WELS, T5 R7 WELS, T5 R8 WELS, T6 R6 WELS, T6 R7 WELS, T6 R8 WELS, T7 R6 WELS, T7 R7 WELS, T7 R8 WELS, T8 R6 WELS, T8 R7 WELS, T8 R8 WELS, Twombly Twp (T3 R1 NBPP), and Veazie Gore pursuant to the provisions of Section 122 of Title 28-A of the Maine Revised Statutes. The Commissioners are considering authorizing the following:


1. Sale of liquor for consumption on the premises on days other than Sunday,

2. Sale of spirits and fortified wine for consumption off the premises on days other than Sunday.

2-A, Sale of malt liquor and wine for consumption off the premises on days other than Sunday.

3. Sale of liquor for consumption on the premises on Sundays,

4. Sale of spirits and fortified wine for consumption off the premises on Sundays 4-A, Sale of malt liquor and wine for consumption off the premises on Sundays.

5. Operation of state liquor stores and agency liquor stores on Sunday.

6. Sale of spirits to be consumed on the premises on Sunday.

7. Sale of malt liquor and wine to be consumed on the premises on Sunday.

8. Sale of malt liquor and wine for consumption on the premises on Sunday,

9. Operation of bottle clubs.


All interested persons are invited to attend the May 25th, 2021 Public Hearing

and will be given an opportunity to be heard at that time
