Unorganized Territories / Fire & EMS Coordinator


Introduction

The Penobscot County Commission, located at 97 Hammond Street, Bangor, ME is searching for an experienced individual from the Fire & EMS community to provide consultation services regarding a special project in the Unorganized Territories (UT) for a 6 – month trial basis.


Penobscot County is a county government entity responsible for serving the residents of Penobscot County, Maine. The county encompasses a diverse range of municipalities, including urban areas, rural communities, and natural landscapes. In addition, the County Commissioners have a statutory obligation to manage the County’s Unorganized Territories (UT) from the State of Maine.


Scope of Services


Ø The successful candidate will need to have significant amount of experience in leadership within the Fire & EMS community.

Ø Ability to promote and organize opportunities for coordination and regionalization of Fire & EMS services amongst those communities willing to participate

Ø Assist with any tasks regarding the progress and / or completion of such opportunities.

Ø Present County & UT management with any administrative / legal tasks to further projects

Ø Collection of inventory data regarding Fire & EMS vehicles and equipment for regional planning

Ø Attend meetings pertaining to the topic and scope of this RFP such as the weekly Commissioner meeting as well as any appropriate UT / TIF (Tax Increment Finance) Committee meetings

Ø Update County & UT management on progress for presentation to the County Commissioners

Ø Work independently of County & UT leadership to develop the best approach for solutions
