Notice of Public Hearing on Remote Participation Policy


The Penobscot County Budget Committee will hold a Public Hearing on a proposed Remote Participation Policy for the Penobscot County Budget Committee pursuant to 1 M.R.S. § 403-B. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. in the County Commissioner Chambers located on the 2nd floor 97 Hammond Street, Bangor, Maine. This meeting will be held in-person in the County Commissioner Chambers located on the 2nd floor 97 Hammond Street, Bangor, Maine. The meeting will also be live streamed for the General Public to view via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/PenobscotCountyGovernment. If you would like an opportunity to provide public comment during the Public Hearing regarding the Remote Participation Policy for Penobscot County Budget Committee Policy please email: ehoney@penobscot-county.net and a Zoom invite will be provided.

On Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 5 p.m. members of the Penobscot County Budget Committee will meet to review the 2022 Penobscot County Budget and the 2022-2023 Penobscot County Unorganized Territory Budget. This meeting will be held in-person in the County Commissioner Chambers located on the 2nd floor 97 Hammond Street, Bangor, Maine, and, pending adoption of a Remote Public Meeting Policy, via ZOOM for members of the Commission and Budget Committee allowed to participate remotely pursuant to the policy. The meeting will also be live streamed for the General Public to view via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/PenobscotCountyGovernment.


The 2022 Proposed Budget reflects expenditures of $ 24,077,694; estimated Revenues & Surplus transfer of $ 4,451,098 for an estimate of $ 19,626,596 to be raised by taxation.


The 2022-2023 Unorganized Territory Budget reflects expenditures of $2,061,305; estimated Revenues & Surplus transfer of $ 540,297 for an estimate of $1,521,009 to be raised by taxation.
